- Retail department established in 1979 in Easley serving the entire upstate of South Carolina.
- Specializes in custom built gunite pools, both residential and commercial.
- Renovations include resurfacing gunite, installing new vinyl liners, retiling, coping work, and adding water features.
- Employees receive continuous, extensive training to keep up with the latest technology.

Fearless Leader
Where do we start? She is our boss lady- she keeps the wheels turning and gears grinding here for Anchor Pools. She stays on the top of technology; whether it be new products that are a must have for your pool or that help us service your pool needs better. If you have a pool question that stumps any of us- she KNOWs the answer-it really is a gift. When she’s not preoccupied with pool things she loves her Tennessee Volunteers.
J.B. Merritt started Anchor Pools in 1978. He played college football at the University of Tennessee where he met his wife Dionne. He taught school at Wren High School, and while visiting his cousins, he noticed that the next door neighbor was installing a swimming pool. He observed, asked millions of questions, did a lot of research, and decided this was the business he wanted to pursue. He and Dionne started the business while adding three daughters to their family. JB is using his retirement hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. J.B. is the creative force behind our award-winning Gunite pools and fountains.
Retail Team
She is an OG of Anchor Pools. You will find her up front and personally answering all your pool water questions plus assisting you in hunting down those pool pump parts you are looking for. When she’s not holding down the fort, she’s yelling Go Vols! Or currently Go Gamecocks under duress because she is currently financing their educational program-her daughter Chloe will be class of 2029!
She has graced Anchor Pools with her presence for the past 16 years- just kidding, they have not so silently tolerated her during these long, long years. She is best known for making an awkward situation way more awkward. For Anchor Pools she handles all things vinyl liner and safety cover related plus she is behind the counter greeting you and assisting you with your pool water and all things pool related. When she’s not swimming (in work) she enjoys golf and the Buffalo Bills- Go Bills.
She is celebrating 10 years with Anchor Pools. She runs a tight ship and her organizational skills are highly appreciated; she makes sure our service and maintenance department runs seamlessly. In her spare time, she enjoys church fellowship and spending time with her daughters; plus, she is and avid fan of the Braves (insert tomahawk chop!).
Anchor Pool’s own resident robot; he is a combination of AI and actual human intelligence. He is a Senior at Clemson University (Go Tigers!) where he is studying Molecular Biology and plans to reshape medicine using stem cells. At Anchor Pools, we use him seasonally for his muscle to help us retail girls load your car and run your water tests. If you are looking for a lengthy discussion, ask him about The Pickard Paradox (please; we can’t talk about it anymore to him and he needs to talk to someone!).
Construction Team
10 years ago he started on our service department and his skills, patience, and hard work has him promoted to head of our new construction. He will help conceptualize your pool dream into reality. Not much fazes him (maybe grout, but that’s another story) so tell him your biggest, wildest pool dreams and let’s see if we can make them a reality.
Talk about a work ethic- this man delivers. When asked to complete a task he doesn’t procrastinate-he gives 100% till the job is done and completed to HIS complete satisfaction-and he sets a high standard. When he’s not working for Anchor Pools, you will catch him singing and strumming on his guitar. You might be able to say one day you knew him when… after he puts out his first album.
Liner Team
Oh Brandon, with his golden retriever energy and his logical analytical thought process he has been a great addition to the Anchor Pools team. Just 15 years old when he started- he quickly became everyone’s favorite “little brother” (no, he is not Jane’s or Susan’s son-don’t let the red hair fool you) and now he over sees our liner installations. He is one with nature and on the weekends, he likes to get lost in the woods and find himself- hopefully he wasn’t too lost to begin with!
Does this man ever get upset? With his contagious laugh and all-around pleasing disposition, you cannot have a bad day with him around. His let’s get it done (but let’s have fun while we are doing it) attitude helps with liner installations and with him on our team ensures that the days in the hot unforgiving sun pass a little quicker.
This man was born into this business and is learning every process from below the ground (get it, swimming pools?) up. Yes, he is Susan’s son- but don’t expect special treatment-he has to get down and dirty like the rest of us! He currently is part of our three amigos liner crew (with Brandon and Kevin) which works because his favorite cuisine is Mexican. When he is not sweating it out installing pool liners he likes to hunt, fish and rock out to metal while watching Moto GP.

Service & Maintenance Team
His skill set is jack of all trades and actually masters them too! Our go to service guy, with him on the job we know it’s going to be done 100% right and then some. He will patiently walk you through his process and leave you with the confidence of a job well done.
Pool maintenance is his specialty- he will balance your pool water so that it is sparkly and safe to swim! He splits his passion for pools with his passion for cars- he enjoys working on and rebuilding cars when he isn’t cleaning your swimming pool!
Friendly and he is a wealth of knowledge and thankfully pools top the list! He will care and clean for your pool like it was his own-and he likes a clean, clear, safe pool! When he’s not vacuuming out your leaves or balancing your pool water; he is playing the drums and being a rock star!
Our newest addition to the Anchor Pools Family as a Maintenance Tech, Caysie has been around the swimming pool industry for most of her life. Her attention to detail and strong work ethic will be a perfect fit here at Anchor Pools. She enjoys swimming, reading and being a cat mom when she’s off work.
